ITINERARY

DAY ONE

Gods WindowPANORAMA ROUTE (MPUMALANGA PROVINCE)

Guests are picked up from hotel between 7am and 9am. We drive to the Mpumalanga Province and visit some small historical towns of Graskop, Hazyview and Pilgrims Rest – a reconstructed mining settlement from the 1870’s gold rush days. The whole little town is a museum and a national monument.  Along the way we enjoy seeing some exciting scenery - gorges, landscapes, God’s Window, waterfalls and Bourke’s Luck Potholes - the cylindrical and rather alien-looking deep potholes filled with green water are carved into the rock by whirlpools where two rivers converge. After checking in at our lodge just outside the Kruger National Park we visit Shangana Cultural Village. Shangaan is one of the tribes in South Africa and the village is a genuine Shangaan village presided over by Chief Israel Ngobeni who has lived in this village for more than 35 years. The hour-long tour of the kraal (traditional rural village) is followed by the chief hosting a firelit song and dance performance portraying the history of the Shangaan people. Traditional dinner of pap (corn porridge) and stew is served in traditional plates made of wood.

DAY TWO

We start the day just as the gates to the Kruger National Park open. Early morning game drive. Breakfast at Skukhuza camp at around 10am. Continue with the game drive and check in at our camp inside the park at late afternoon. Sunset game drive in open vehicles an option at own account.

DAY THREE

Early game drive before breakfast. Breakfast at Skukhuza camp between 9am and 10am. After breakfast we continue with the game drive until in the afternoon when we go back to our camp or we may be spending this night at a different camp where guests can rest. Optional game drive in open vehicles at own account.

DAY FOUR

We check-out and have breakfast in the camp.  As we leave the camp, we have a late morning game drive that gives us a chance to say “GOOD BYE, HOPE TO VISIT YOU AGAIN” to the animals and birds as we drive towards the gate. Time allowing, on our way, we stop at Sudwala caves at own account. We will be back in Pretoria or Johannesburg at about 6pm
